Bailey’s Team for Autism is kicking off the 2017 5K Season on Sunday April 2nd. The 6th annual run is a professionally measured USATF certified course that begins and ends at Schneider Electric, Neponset Avenue in Foxboro. The Run and Walk start at 10 a.m.
Visit www.baileysteam.org to register. The entry fee for runners is registration is $35. Walk registration is free; however, a donation to Bailey’s Team is appreciated.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three overall run winners (male and female) and the top male and female in the following age groups: 12 & under, 13 -18, 19 - 29, 30 – 39, 40 - 49, 50 – 59, and 60+.
The Awards Presentation follows at 11 a.m. at the after-party at Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub & Restaurant.
Bailey’s Team for Autism is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The group allocates 90% of the dollars raised directly to organizations that provide research, education and programming for individuals living with autism and their families. Since 2008, Bailey’s Team has raised over $875,000 towards this mission.
Someone is diagnosed with autism every 20 minutes. One in 68 children will be diagnosed with autism this year. There is no cure. Individuals with autism require lifelong supervision, protection and care.
