When Northeast Financial Strategies opened its doors this past fall in Wampum Corner, it was a homecoming of sorts for Jeff Schweitzer. Started by Schweitzer's father, Jim, and located out in Norwood for 15 years, he decided to move the family business closer to home. The move not only cut down on the commute time and saved on gas, it has also allowed Schweitzer to become more involved with his town. "I live in Wrentham with my family. My bookkeeper lives in Wrentham with her family. My dad lives in Norfolk," he explained. "This allows us to be closer to home and get more involved in the community where we live and work with people we already know." In the few months they've been in town, they've jumped right in. Schweitzer is coaching his children's T-ball and softball teams. NFS is actually the sponsor of the softball team. He also donated free Individual Income Tax Preparation Certificates to the Wrentham Elementary School Trust (WEST) and KP Pop Warner Championship fundraisers. The whole experience has felt like a homecoming. "I grew up in Norfolk, but I went to King Philip," Schweitzer said. "I'm reconnecting with people I went to school with and and it feels really comfortable."
Located at 667 South Street in the same building as Century 21, Café Assisi, and Magic Shears, Schweitzer can't say enough about his new neighbors. "They've welcomed us not just as neighbors or tenants in the building but it feels like family," he said.
