King Philip Regional High School was notified on Monday, November 12, 2012 that it was selected for the 3rd Annual Advance Placement Honor Roll. A total of 539 school districts across the U.S. and Canada are being honored by the College Board for simultaneously increasing access to Advanced Placement coursework while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on Advanced Placement exams.
According to school officials, King Philip teachers made it a goal to expand access to Advanced Placement courses for all students. The teachers applied to be a part of the Massachusetts Math and Science Initiative Grant, which allocated funds to districts to defray the cost of expanding access. Despite not being selected for the grant, school officials stated with pride that the teachers worked diligently with very limited funding to achieve this success.
