TEAM MASSACHUSETT’S 7th AND 8th GRADE ALL-STAR TEAMS BATTLE IN THE FBU SWEET 16 NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN OHIO THIS WEEKEND

Seven local King Philip area football players are part of this weekend’s 7^th and 8^th grade FBU National Tournament taking place at Arlin Field in Mansfield, OH.  Riley Lucas and Shane Frommer are part of the 34 player 7^th grade team.  Lucas plays fullback and defensive line.  Frommer plays cornerback.  7^th grade TEAM MASS advanced from an initial National pool of 64 teams defeating New Hampshire 14-12 last Saturday and beating Connecticut 40-8 last Sunday.  The team won its first weekend game and is heading to the Elite 8 after beating NJ 41-22. 7th grade Team Mass plays Maryland Sunday at 1 pm for the right to play in the National final four at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX in January. 

 

The 8^th grade team has Peter Scibilia, RB, and James Ralff, TE/DB, both from Norfolk.  CJ Herson, OL, is from Plainville and Dan Loewen, OL, and Brett Mazur, DL, are both from Wrentham.  The 8^th grade team beat both NH and CT last weekend and they have the opportunity to advance to the Alamo Dome in January with 2 wins this weekend.

 

On Saturday Team Mass 8th grade team beat CT 27-0 to move into the Elite 8 and will play Maryland Sunday. The winner moves in to the FBU National Final 4 at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, TX.   

Both the 7th and 8th grade Sunday games will be broadcast live on AM 1170 WDIS and on the Internet at www. wdisam.com.
