King Philip Music Association is hosting their inaugural 5K/Donut Dash on September 29, 2013 in conjunction with the Plainville Lions Fall Festival.
What is a 5K/Donut Dash?
It is a traditional 5K road race with a twist. The Donut Dash is a race where the participant can either walk or run and there are stops along the route where donuts(s) can be eaten and there is a credit of time taken off their total time of the race. The event is being held at the Old Beatrice Wood School in Plainville. The start time of the race is 8:30 a.m. and the approximate end time is 11:00 a.m. There are three separate groups to register for. The “Old Fashion Donut” for the traditional runner, which will not be eating any donuts. The “Glazed Donut” group, which will be the runners/walkers consuming donuts. The “Box of Munchkins” group, which is a family group discount. The event is being timed and officiated by Race Wire. Participants can either sign up on www.racewire.com or the King Philip Music Associations has a link on their webpage at www.kingphilipmusic.org.
