American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit 225 is seeking “Welcome Home Basket” item donations for our veterans. “Welcome Home Baskets” are presented as housewarming gifts to homeless veterans who are transitioning into new homes.
Last year, with tremendous support from the community, ALA Unit 225 gathered enough items to create 10 housewarming baskets which included homemade afghans from the Wrentham Senior Center who are, again supporting this year’s holiday drive. The baskets will be delivered to HomeStart, Inc., Boston, MA who, in partnership with the New England Center for Homeless Veterans (NECHV), conducts housing searches and placement for homeless veterans.
Desired household items include cleaning products, paper towels, sponges, small broom and dust pan, dishes and flat wear, oven mitts, cooking utensils, pans, can openers, plastic shower curtains with rings and bed linens (full or twin).Drop box locations for donated items:

- Wrentham Senior Center, 400 Taunton Street, Wrentham, MA (Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
