Bishop Feehan senior and Wrentham resident Michael Geraghty is the school's 2016 salutatorian and in less than a month’s time, he will commence his appointment to the United States Air Force Academy where he will pursue a degree in the field of Engineering.
Geraghty is the recipient of the Yale University book award and has been inducted into the National, Spanish, Science, Math, English, and History Honor Societies. Additionally, he currently holds the position of Vice President of the National Honor Society.
As an athlete, Geraghty was elected by his peers as captain of the varsity ice hockey team, a squad of which he’s been a contributing member since his freshman year. During the fall of his senior year, Mike played varsity golf for the first time and was a member of the Division 2 State Championship team. Prior to playing golf, Mike had starred as Feehan’s varsity football team’s starting running back during his junior year. However, due to sustaining a serious concussion in his junior season, Mike made the choice to hang up his cleats and pick up his clubs for the fall of his senior year.
Beyond academics and athletics, Geraghty is active within both Bishop Feehan and his church community. At Feehan, he is a student council class officer, and actively participates in campus ministry, Project Unite, the Special Olympics, and the Amigos program. Within St. Mary’s Parish, he has been an altar server since the onset of his freshman year.
Geraghty is the son of Thomas and Constance Geraghty of Wrentham, MA, brother to Joseph Geraghty (Class of 2014) and Rory Geraghty (Class of 2020).
